Mary Beaudoin | Ms. Mary Beaudoin is CanChild's Development Officer. She assists CanChild in developing its future directions and raising funds to support its long-term sustainability. Mary has a Master's degree in Social Work, several years of front-line and supervisory experience in agencies working with children and their families and numerous years of program and policy experience, in the area of children with special needs, at the Ontario Ministries of Children and Youth Services and Community and Social Services. |
Ann Brodie | Ms. Ann Brodie is Director of Development for McMaster University's Faculty of Health Science. Ann provides advice to CanChild on fundraising strategies and activities. Her 16 years of experience in the development field have included educational and social services organizations. |
Elham Farah | Ms. Elham Farah, a resident of Dundas Ontario, is a teacher for the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board and Director of Special Projects-Farah Food Hasty Market. Educated at Hebrew University, Jerusalem, she went on to receive a Master's Degree in Education from Brock University. She received Women of the Year Award in 2003 for her leadership and volunteer contributions. As an active member in the community, she sits on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Burlington and Hamilton, is a member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Friends of Haifa University, Haifa, Israel and is Co-Founder of Farah Foundation at the Hamilton Community Foundation. |
Susane Flett | Ms. Susanne Flett is the President of Healthtech Consultants in Toronto and a leading contributor to the advancement of eHealth in Canada. Healthtech provides information management and information technology consulting services to the healthcare sector. Susanne established the company in 1983 out of the desire to help healthcare organizations improve the delivery of patient care through the use of technology. Susanne holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from McMaster University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario. She is currently on the Board of the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC), ITAC Health as well as the Board of Camp Awakening - a camp for disabled children and teenagers. |
Cathy Hecimovitch | Ms. Cathy Hecimovich is currently Chief Executive Officer of the Central West Community Care Access Centre (CW CCAC) and the Chair of the Ontario Association of Community Care Access Centre (OACCAC), CEO Council. Ms. Hecimovich holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences from McMaster University, a Masters in Education from Brock University, and has completed the Advanced Health Leaders Program through the Rotman School of Management. Ms. Hecimovich is also a Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Service Executives and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). She holds an academic appointment with the graduate faculty at McMaster University as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences. |

Cheryl Missiuna - Ex-Officio | Dr. Cheryl Missiuna is Director of CanChild and a Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Science at McMaster University. She is an occupational therapist with graduate level training in educational psychology and special education. Cheryl contributes expertise to CanChild regarding children with developmental coordination disorder and models of service delivery in pediatric rehabilitation. Her current research interests include developing and evaluating innovative models of service delivery in school health support services, early identification and prevention of secondary consequences in children with developmental coordination disorder, and developing educational resources for parents, teachers, physicians and service providers. |
Barbara Pitts | Ms. Barbara Pitts is an Associate Partner and the National Leader of the Health Services Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Canada and works from the Toronto office. She advises health service leaders in the design and implementation of new health systems and integrated service delivery models, in the development of strategy and the supporting performance management system, in the improvement of quality and operational performance and in the area of health human resources and organizational design. Prior to joining PwC, Barbara was the Chief Operating Officer of Stage-Gate Inc., a company focused on translating the best practice research in new product innovation to create products and services that supported innovation strategy, technology, product development and commercialization and portfolio management processes, consulting services and a variety of software products. Previous to that, Barbara worked in the Public Services Practice at KPMG Consulting after ten years at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University where she held a faculty position within the Business Policy and Human Resources areas. Barbara received her B.A. in Sociology from McMaster University, B. Ed. from Brock University and a Masters of Business Administration from McMaster University and holds a CMC designation. |
Peter Rosenbaum | Dr. Peter Rosenbaum is Co-Founder of CanChild. He is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and an Associate Member of the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McMaster University. Peter holds a CIHR Canada Research Chair in Childhood Disability (2001-2007 and 2008-2014) which allows Peter to devote his time to clinical and health services research. His research interests include studies of the processes of care research program, the evaluation of family-centred functional approaches to care, how to describe and measure functional status and the development and implementation of a database system for gross motor disability. He works with a number of graduate students at several universities. In 2007 Peter became the inaugural Director of the McMaster Child Health Research Institute, of which CanChild is a Founding Member. |
