What's New at CanChild?

Measures of Participation: CAPE and PAC
The Children's Assessment of Participation and Enjoyment (CAPE) and the Preferences for Activities of Children (PAC) are two companion measures of children's participation. Both are self-report measures of children's participation in recreation and leisure activities outside of mandated school activities. The CAPE and PAC are packaged together and are available through Harcourt Assessment, Inc.

Grant Funding
Moving research into practice: A unique Canadian research opportunity --- The Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy has awarded CanChild a grant to support the redesign of CanChild's website and continued development of the CanChild Intranet (a national resource for service providers and researchers). A newly designed website is expected to be in operation in early 2006. If you have any feedback or ideas for our website redesign, please contact Geoff Johnston.

Establishing valid criteria for classification of mild Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in children --- The Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation has awarded funding to Carol DeMatteo, Steve Hanna, and colleagues to establish criteria for classification of mild TBI in children. This study will involve secondary analyses of the data collected in the ABI Transitions study.
