ABI Transitions Study Report

The Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Transitions Team prepared this report to outline the preliminary results of this longitudinal study. Children with acquired brain injury were followed through the McMaster Children's Hospital in Hamilton, ON, to investigate the factors that influence transitions to home, school and community or recreational activities for school-aged children with acquired brain injury. The effects of the severity of the brain injury can be seen in all areas of child and family functioning, including school function, health status, family function, and timing of key transitions. This study was funded by the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation (ONF).
